The chanter is made from the best blackwood or boxwood. Its unique bore helps to maximize your instrument’s efficiency and deliver a full, powerful sound. The Boderiou Uilleann pipe chanter is made to get the right balance between richness of tone and tuning accuracy in both octaves. Free-flowing and open, this chanter requires low pressure and so will suit the beginner or the accomplished piper. The innovative « ONOFF »® Stop Key system allows pipers to stop the chanter while pulling the chanter top button mount. This design is both more attractive and simple than traditional designs. The chanter comes reeded. — The Boderiou Uilleann Pipes drones have gone through several years of thorough research. Their steadiness is exceptional, facilitating chanter playing in both octaves. Many innovations in terms of bores dimensions and airflow help to “open up” the instrument’s tone and complete the sound bubble centered on the chanter sound. For example, each drone features a resonator which also helps efficiency and retention of harmonics. The bass drone metal resonator highlights the depth and brightness of the bass sound. Finally, a unique mainstock design maximizes the resonance of the drones with the added benefit of making the instrument a bit lighter and more robust. — The Boderiou Uilleann Regulators consist of a tenor, baritone and bass regulators. They are made to complete the overall sound bubble of the chanter and drones. They sound particularly rich but doesn’t drown out the sound of chanter and drones. Their efficiency is optimal which helps in terms of air consumption. The regulator keys are formed in a tear drop shape which allows to play downwards but also upwards. The regulators are reeded with Boderiou regulator reeds. The bass regulator bar fixation system is quite unique and allows to dismantle it completely without touching to the reed setup.
